It’s very exciting to get carried away with the idea of travelling to Australia. After all, there’s kangaroos and koalas, and you also get the chance to swim in the pristine crystal-clear waters too. If you want to have the best vacation however then you need to make sure that you do your research and that you plan out all of the things that you want to do when you arrive.
Learn the Language when You Can
Aussies do speak English, but it helps to learn some of the slang before you go. There are tons of guides out there that will help you to get to grips with it, and when you do, you will soon find that it’s easier than ever for you to blend in and live like a local.
Summer is Different Everywhere you Go
Each city in Australia will give you a different type of summer. It doesn’t matter where you travel because you need to make sure that you wear a ton of sunblock either way. Perth has very dry summers whereas Brisbane is more humid. That being said, both cities are more than capable of giving you serious sunburn if you don’t go prepared, so make sure that you pack accordingly.
Australia is Huge
A lot of people underestimate how big Australia actually is. You might think that you can easily hop on a quick flight so that you can get from one side of the country to the other, but this is not the case at all. In fact, if you were to go from Brisbane to Perth then this would easily take you over 5 hours. If you were to try and drive, then you’d be on the road for over 3 days. This isn’t ideal, but luckily there is so much for you to do in every area. For example, you could go and see some modern Australian art or you could even try your hand at surfing.
Wildlife
Wildlife is absolutely everywhere in Australia. If you want to see some of the amazing animals there first-hand then it helps to travel more inland. There are so many tours that you can go on and when you do, your guide will be able to fill you in on some of the natural habitats that they live in and even the history of the area too.
Internet Issues
The internet in Australia is normally pretty slow and you may end up paying a small fortune for it as well. If you live in London then you will know that the internet is absolutely everywhere but this is not the case when you travel the world. If you want to stay connected, then you need to make sure that you buy a hotspot. When you do, you can take it with you wherever you go and you will also not have to worry about roaming charges as much, so do keep that in mind for the next time you make the trip.
