A trip to the 12th century jail of Guadalest, complete with dungeon, is also a must for soaking up some of the town’s fascinating history.

As well as the history, there’s loads of culture to dip into at Guadalest, with the Antonio Marco Museum, the Ethnological Museum, the Historica Motorcycle Museum, the Micro-Gigantic Museum, the Minatures Museum and even a salt and pepper shaker museum! With this many museums to visit, you might decide Guadalest’s worth a second visit.

As well as the history and culture, the town’s natural beauty is a big selling point for visitors and tourists. If you’re staying in Benidorm you’ll come into Guadalest via an upward twisting and turning road with plenty of stunning views. Perched on top of the pinnacle of a mountain, the town offers fantastic views across the valley, so make sure you’ve got your cameras handy; there are plenty of picture perfect scenes to snap.

And you can’t miss beautiful Guadalest Lake, the picturesque turquoise blue reservoir which is a landmark of the area and is perfect for a boat ride, or simply for a summer’s stroll and picnic.
