It’s Wednesday which means it is Hump Day. What is hump day, you may ask yourself? To understand what it is and why we do it, you have to check out our original Hump Day Wednesday photo.

Each Wednesday, we will post a new photo of something that we have found that helps us imagine what we might get up to this weekend. It could be just a lovely relaxing beach, some excellent surf, a great snorkeling spot, a destination; you get the idea. In the end, it’s just going to be a picture of whatever I feel like putting up that reminds me of some good times.

This was taken in the middle of winter and featured the frozen river and waterfall in Maligne Canyon in Jasper, Canada. Note, if you squint closely, you can see a climber about 3/4’s of the way up this ice stack. The temperatures reached a ball-numbing -37 degrees Celsius (yes, NEGATIVE)! In the middle of summer, it’s a rushing torrent that drains out to the Athabasca River, eventually reaching the West Coast of Canada. And this weekend, we are off to try our first ever ice climbing experience (it is indoors, but it is expected to snow in the Highlands this weekend, hello winter). All in all, it should be interesting considering I wouldn’t say I like heights…

What does this photo make you think about to get you through to the end of the week?
