Here is a quick list we decided to put together after hearing about nightmare-level experiences from more than one travelling woman among our friends. We hope this helps all of you get it straight for the next time! These items are indispensable for travelling ladies, no matter what!
Underwear:
The optimum travelling experience is all about comfort, which sounds logical enough. But when packing, people often forget who important good underwear is to your comfort, in so many ways.
Splurge here and get yourself a repertoire of the perfect travelling underwear if you are a frequent traveller, or at the very least get one really good set for those long plane trips. These always go in your carry-on, along with that one all-important change of clothes you already knew to pack!
A Hanging Toiletries Bag:
This one is especially key in those situations where you have multiple destinations and are going to be staying in multiple places for short stays.
Nothing is more of a pain than having to pack and unpack toiletries multiple times on a trip, so get a bag that hangs in the shower and this will save you the majority of that packing and unpacking. You will also as a fringe benefit save a lot of money in time by not accidentally leaving things in hotel or AirBnB showers in a rush to leave!
TSA-Approved Travel Size Bottles:
Any Walmart has these babies for pennies, and they are absolutely crucial if your itinerary includes any American or Canadian airport (Pearson is the WORST for this!).
Unless you are sure that every bottle you are carrying is under the 4 oz (100ml) limit, don’t take any second chances. Use these things and travel stress free. You can always use multiple bottles if you need more than the limit of a particular thing.
What to put in these bottles: any and every liquid you need, except for things like contact lens solution, which needs to be sterile and has to stay in its own container.
Deodorant and Sunscreen:
Not all countries have the same brands of these products, in fact, some places surprisingly ON the beaten trail can lack good versions of these products. Don’t settle for having to buy Alzheimers-causing cheap deodorant that smells weird, or oily nasty sunscreen that clogs your pores and makes you shine like a beacon! Get the good stuff and bring it everywhere.
