This open bus tour lets you be a tourist in style for the day, and explore the city. It runs on weekends, and departs from the corner of Colmore Row and Waterloo Street, Victoria Square.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

If it’s a family friendly venue that you are looking for with something to suit everybody, Birmingham Botanical Gardens is a great choice. Whether you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful day out where you can take in all the wonders of nature, or your kids have been begging to learn more about plants and flowers Birmingham Botanical Gardens is definitely worth a visit. It’s open daily from 10AM and there’s a number of children’s trails. If you’re taking under-fives, they go free.

Cannon Hill Park

If you’re looking for a great outdoor day out in Birmingham on a budget, why not take a picnic to the 80 acre Cannon Hill Park. It’s great for walks, or you can bring a football along to have a family game. There’s also the lake where you can take a pedal boat or even fish for the day. If you visit Cannon Hill Park at the weekend, a small fun fair will be running – great fun for both kids and adults.

Birmingham Canal Boat Tours

If you’re visiting Birmingham, why not explore the city by canal boat? Birmingham actually has more canals than Venice – so you can be assured you’ll definitely have a great time exploring. The canal side also makes for great walks and relaxing days out, and kids can have fun feeding the ducks and watching the boats go by.
